Purpose

To teach interested people how to resolve beaver-related problems in a long term, cost-effective manner.

Audience

Ideal for highway personnel, railroad track maintenance personnel, problem animal control agents, conservation agents or others interested in this work.

Goals

Upon completion of a Beaver Solutions Training workshop, participants will understand:

• how to assess a beaver conflict site
• how to determine which intervention method is best suited to each particular site
• how to design, build and install flow devices for any conflict site
• what materials to use
• how to create a cost estimate and bill for services
• beaver biology and habits
• permitting issues
• when to recommend trapping
• how to protect select trees from beavers
• maintenance requirements for flow devices.
